History

Established in 1962.

P & L vacuum was opened in 1951 by Jack McGrew and he retired in 1969 when Western Vacuum bought the store and I started managing  a year later. January 1st 2003 Western Vacuum sold the store to me and I remodeled the store makeing sure I kept the old look but bringing in a complete new inventory and bringing it into the 21st century.

I have lived in the Bay Area for my whole life, I graduated from Hogan High School in 1964 married my wife Linda in 1966 had a son in 1967. I started working as a mechanic before I graduated I went into the Family Business in 1968 working for Western Vacuum and started managing a Store in 1969 in Concord Ca. soon I started managing the store in San Rafael and raised my son and was involved in the community for many years. My passion was Babe Ruth Baseball and ran the Vallejo Babe Ruth League for over 20 years. I was the tournament director for the 1988 and 1992 Babe Ruth World Series in Vallejo Ca., After buying the business in San Rafael there was no time to help the baseball program and have devoted all my time running the business, P & L Vacuum.
