History

Established in 1976.

In 1976 Jack and Sharon Sherman opened the first Sherman's store: a small shop
with an eclectic mix of products including microwave ovens. Over the years, they
expanded their small shop into a full line retailer of appliances, electronics, furniture and
mattresses with three central Illinois locations. They developed a solid reputation for
their combination of personalized service and the best price.

Today the business is run by the next generation of family members and dozens of
experienced employees. Their sales staff is among the most knowledgeable in central
Illinois. As a core member of the Nationwide Marketing Group (the nation's largest
buying organization with over $10 billion in buying power), Sherman's can compete with
even the biggest national chains.
